Buyer documentation
Peptide COA, TDS and MSDS Documentation
Technical buyers need to match the material, specification and lot before a purchase order. Use this page to confirm which documents should be requested and what each one should show.
Document set
Four items to match
- Product grade and specification
- Lot number and manufacture date
- COA for that lot
- Safety and handling information
What each document should tell you
Specification or TDS
Identifies the product, INCI or chemical identity, grade, appearance, assay or purity target, solubility, recommended storage and packaging. The revision and product code should be traceable.
Certificate of Analysis
A COA should relate to a specific batch and lot number. It should show the tested parameters, results, specification limits and the testing method used.
MSDS or SDS
The safety data sheet explains handling, storage, hazard information and transport considerations. It should match the material and grade being supplied.
Commercial documents
Quotation, invoice, packing list and shipping documents should use consistent product descriptions and batch references. Ask before shipment which documents will be included.

Document checklist
Match the paperwork to the material
Before payment, compare the product name, INCI identity, grade, lot number and test results across the quotation, specification and COA.
- Do the product names and grades agree?
- Does the COA lot number match the offered batch?
- Are assay, appearance and impurities within specification?
- Are the storage and shipping instructions consistent?
Documentation FAQ
Can you provide a COA before I order?
A sample COA or the available document set can be reviewed before an order. The final COA should match the exact batch supplied.
What is the difference between a TDS and a COA?
A TDS describes the product and its typical technical properties. A COA reports the test results for a specific batch and lot.
Do you provide an MSDS or SDS?
Safety documentation is requested against the exact product and grade being quoted.
Can the lot number be checked after shipment?
Yes. The lot number should connect the shipped material to the matching COA and batch records.
